Welcome to the Homepage of the Program "Molecular Oncology"

The program "Molecular Oncology" offers a basic training in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry and clinical oncology. The goal of this program is to train students in current technologies that are relevant for advanced basic cancer research and also to communicate the skills and knowledge to translate basic research into the setting of clinical oncology.

This goal is pursued through courses that are directed by scientists in basic cancer research as well as by research-oriented clinical oncologists. This approach, which can be described as ranging "from the molecule to the bedside", is in line with the modern international curricula in molecular oncology and will qualify students who successfully attend this program as prime candidates for positions in basic and applied cancer research at the international level.

The program is open to students who have obtained their first degree in medical (Dr. med. univ.) or natural sciences (Mag. rer. nat or equivalent). Students graduating from the program after three years, which is the minimum requirement, will be awarded the PhD degree.
