1. What is FP7 ?
- The Seventh Framework Programme for research and technological development (FP7) is the European Union’s chief instrument for funding research. It will last for seven years from 2007 to 2013 with a total budget of over 50 billion EUR.
- FP7 is a key tool to respond to Europe’s needs in terms of jobs and competitiveness, and to maintain leadership in the global knowledge economy.
- Two main strategic objectives are to strengthen the scientific and technological base of European industry, and to encourage its international competitiveness, while promoting research that supports EU policies.
- Activities must have a “European added value“, i.e. research projects are carried out with Transnationality, its results should raise the whole European value etc.
