University Assistant (Praedoc)

externally funded, with immediate effect, limited to 3 years
Your area of responsibility
Our group is interested in cancer survivorship projects implementing novel web-based tools to guide life-style behavior and surveillance programs of children and young adults surviving cancer supported by the Austrian Comprehensive Cancer Center (ACCN). Our study will also implement a structured biobanking of cancer survivor blood samples to systematically fingerprint genetic (CHIP) and chronic inflammation as a result of previous cancer therapies to finally link long-term sequela of these therapies to secondary outcomes.
Your tasks include
- Systematic collection of clinical data.
- Software tool development and biobanking including many multi-omic technologies (RNASeq, multiplex cytokine quantification, multiparametric flow cytometry techniques etc.).
- Data management, preparation and processing
- Presentation of the results to scientific and non-scientific audiences
- Data analysis and publication of the study results
We are looking forward to
- A master's or diploma degree in biology or medicine
- Very good knowledge of statistics
- Interest in scientific work
- Ability to work in a team and independently
- Accurate and reliable way of working
- Previous experience with the basics of the following techniques would be appreciated: Molecular biology including sequencing technologies, quantitative PCR, immunological methods (FACS, ELISA, bioplex) and cell culture.

For the intended job group B1, GH 1, the minimum salary according to the collective agreement is currently € 39.649,05 gross per year for a 30-hour week and may possibly increase on the basis of the collective agreement regulations through the recognition of jobspecific previous experience and other salary components associated with the special features of the job.
