MUI Lecture Series

Applications for a guest lecture within the MUI lecture series must be addressed to the Vice rector for Research and International relations. In case of approval the Medical University of Innsbruck will cover the travel fees of the guest speaker (Train ticket 2nd class or flight ticket economy class) as well as the hotel accommodation in Innsbruck.

Submission deadlines: 31st January and 15th June

Application documents:

  • Free-form application (1 page DIN A4)
  • Time schedule and programme
  • Expected budget plan
  • CV of guest speaker including a publication list

Lectures will be selected by the Vice rector for Research and International relations. Priority is given to applications fulfilling the following criteria:

  • Scientific excellence of the guest speaker
  • Lectures falling within the key research areas of the Medical University of Innsbruck: neurosciences, oncology, genetics, epigenetics and genomics, and infectiology, immunology and organ and tissue replacement
  • Lectures within the Eurolife Distinguished Lecture Series (EDLS). Guest speaker works in one institution of the Eurolife network: University of Edinburgh, Leiden University Medical Centre, University of Barcelona, Trinity College Dublin, University Medical Centre Göttingen, University of Strasbourg, Karolinska Institutet
  • Lectures emphasizing gender aspects 
  • Lectures from female scientists with an outstanding track record (Women in Science; e.g. ERC-Grant Holder)

In case of approval please be aware of the following:

  • The organisation of the lecture (guest speaker invitation, lecture hall reservation, organisation of parallel meetings with guest, social events, etc.) is the responsibility of the host department/clinic
  • The use of standardized flyers and posters to announce the lecture. Templates are available from the Research Services and Innovation.
