The goals of the Coordination Center for Equality, Affirmative Action for Women and Diversity are to promote equality between women and men at the Medical University of Innsbruck, to establish gender-specific research and teaching as well as to improve the work-life balance of the employees at the Medical University of Innsbruck.

The Coordination Center promotes Gender Mainstreaming and Diversity in research and teaching. It accompanies the teaching of Gender Medicine and draws up guidelines and method tools in order to support scientists.

Medical mentoring programmes as well as continuing education events for the purpose of career promotion and networking aid interested scientists in furthering their academic career.

Information on childcare facilities, advice and financial support as well as making arrangements for childcare places provide organizational and financial assistance and support for employees who are returning to work after parental leave.

The tasks of the Coordination Center for Equality, Affirmative Action for Women and Diversity are set forth in Section 19, para. 2, Item 7, of the Austrian University Act of 2002, in the Bylaws of the Medical University of Innsbruck and in the pertinent laws.
