Participation as female mentee

For the participation as female mentee in the core module “Female Physicians & Female Junior Scientists”, female physicians in their in their specialized training, female post doctorands, PhDs and female habilitation candidates with interest in an academic career shall especially mainly be addressed.

Especially during transitional and decision making situations, the junior promotion program which is specifically designed for of medicine at the Medical University of Innsbruck can systematically support dedicated female physicians and female junior scientists from the fields of Medicine and Natural Sciences in the planning and development of their scientific career.

Program contents in the core module “Female Physicians & Female Junior Scientists”

• An individual mentoring partnership and vertical networking between female mentor and female mentee as central element
• Period of time: one year (operational start respectively in fall)
• Building and promoting horizontal peer networks of the female mentees (=peer mentoring)
• Career program: Accompanying advanced training offers by qualified external female partners to convey and train key competences and soft skills that are relevant for the career
• Network meetings: exchange, reflection, (self) empowerment
• Ongoing support and companionship by the female coordinator of the program

These advanced training courses are only offered for the group of female mentees, to specifically promote the solidarity and the networking among them. The participation is compulsory.
