Wards

In the surgery building of the University of Innsbruck you will find the following wards of the University Clinic for Visceral, Transplant and Thoracic Surgery

  • 3rd floor bed ward 3N: Focus Transplantation Surgery
    Visiting hours from 13.00 to 14.30 and from 18.30 to 19.30 At the entrance to the station there is a bell for visitors.
  • 3rd floor intensive care unit 3S:
    Visiting hours from 13.00 to 14.30 and from 18.30 to 19.30 At the entrance to the station there is a bell for visitors. Only one "healthy" person is admitted at a time. An apron must be worn when entering the intensive care unit.
  • 8th floor bed ward 8 south: Focus on thoracic surgery, endocrine surgery
    Visiting hours from 11.00 to 12.00 and from 14.00 to 19.00
  • 9th floor bed ward 9 north: Focus on surgical oncology, coloproctology
    Visiting hours from 10.00 to 19.00
  • 9th floor bed ward 9 south: Main focus HPB (liver, pancreas and bile duct surgery), foregut surgery (antireflux surgery, bariatric (metabolic) surgery)
    Visiting hours from 10.00 to 19.00
  • 11th floor ward 11 north: Special class beds
    Visiting hours from 10.00 to 20.00

In the Children and Heart Center building there is located the

  • interdisciplinary ward (ward D) of the pediatric and adolescent surgery of VTT Besuchszeiten

On all wards, a team consisting of doctors, nurses, ward assistants and physiotherapists take care of your health.

We ask you to bring the following with you when you are admitted to hospital:

  • Documents
  • Referral form
  • Insurance card
  • Identity card
  • Findings from previous hospital stays
  • llergy pass, medication pass (blood dilution), vaccination card
  • Medication
    Any medication that you have taken regularly in the recent past should be presented to the nursing staff upon admission. In this way, further therapy can be adjusted accordingly
  • Luggage (as little as possible)
  • Toiletries
  • Pyjamas/night shirt
  • Bathrobe
  • Comfortable clothing
  • Slippers
  • Personal needs (glasses, contact lenses, walking stick, hearing aid, reading, laptop, writing materials, little cash)

We ask you not to bring large sums of money, jewelry or other valuables. In case of loss, the clinic cannot assume liability!
