Internet registration

Applicants are obliged to register online via the ANV Management Portal  within the specified period. Registration outside the period is not possible.

Personal data must be entered during online registration. Applicants will receive a reference number, which they will need throughout the rest of the procedure. The time and order of the Internet applications received within the period have no significance for the further steps. Applications that are incomplete, untrue, do not comply with the formal requirements or are not submitted on time are invalid and will not be considered.

After successful online registration, applicants receive a confirmation of registration via the ANV Management Portal. Information on the next steps will be sent both by e-mail and to the personal account in the ANV Management Portal. It is therefore of the utmost importance that the e-mail address is entered correctly when registering online and that the reference number and the personally selected password are kept on record.

Cost contribution

After online registration, the prescribed cost contribution must be paid via the ANV Management Portal in accordance with the regulation. Internet registration is deemed to have been withdrawn if the fee has not been paid in full within the period specified in the regulation. The online registration is then invalid and participation in the test is excluded.

Any fees charged by the bank for the transfer must be taken into account when making the payment. Payment must be made online via the ANV Management Portal

It is not possible to change the choice of study program after payment of the cost contribution. If applicants do not appear for the test or the selection interview or cancel their registration despite a valid online registration, they are not entitled to a refund of the cost contribution paid.

Upload of the documents

The following documents (1 to 4) must be uploaded as PDF files to the personal account in the ANV Management Portal for a valid online registration within the registration deadline (see dates and deadlines):

  • Transcript of Records (previous study achievements, official document of the educational institution),
  • motivational letter in English,
  • exposé or abstract of any Bachelor's Theses or any scientific papers or other subject-related written work in English,
  • curriculum vitae in English and
  • portrait picture (optional)

The upload is only valid if the formal criteria are met.

You can find the upload criteria here.

There will be no orders for improvements.

Admission procedure

There are two admission procedure options:

  • Option 1: If 35 or more than 35 applicants validly register for the admission procedure within the registration period, the admission procedure for selection and allocation of study places takes place in two stages (knowledge test and selection interview). Applicants who are ranked in positions 1 to 50 on the basis of the knowledge test are given the opportunity to take part in a selection interview.
  • Option 2: If fewer than 35 applicants validly register for the admission procedure within the registration period, the admission procedure for selection and allocation of study places is carried out in one step only, by means of a selection interview to which the applicants are invited. The result of these selection interviews leads to the ranking list for the allocation of a study place. The applicants in positions 1 to 30 or the number of study places specified in § 4 para. 2 of the final ranking list are allocated a study place.

The admission procedure for the Master’s Program in Pharmaceutical Sciences (PHARM_SCI) is open to all applicants who have registered for the admission procedure (timely, full payment of the cost contribution, correct upload of all required documents).

The admission test (Option 1) is held in attendance as a computer test or alternatively in written form on paper. The knowledge in the subject areas of

  • genetics
  • physiology/pathophysiology
  • biology/molecular biology
  • chemistry/biochemistry
  • pharmaceutical technology and biotechnology
  • pharmacology
  • statistics

is tested.

Further information on the test content and test preparation can be found online free of charge.

Selection interview

Applicants who are ranked 1 to 50 after the knowledge test will be invited to a selection interview. The selection interviews take place in the presence of a selection committee in Innsbruck in the week following the entrance test.

Applicants will be informed of the dates via the ANV Management Portal.

The dates are allocated and cannot be freely chosen. If the applicant does not attend the selection interview, he/she will be excluded from the admission procedure.

Determination of results

After taking the entrance test and/or the selection interview, the final results are determined. This leads to a ranking list of applicants. The result is published in accordance with the admission regulations. Only those applicants who have been awarded a place on the chosen degree program on the basis of the ranking list (places 1-30) or the number of study places specified in §4 para. 2 and who meet the other legal requirements can be admitted to the study program.
