Admission to the PhD study program
Information regarding the application process for your PhD studies at the Medical University of Innsbruck can be found on the PhD School homepage.
Admission and enrolment deadlines are defined within the academic year. Please note that admission to a PhD programme can only be processed once the application procedure via the PhD Office has been completed and all necessary documents have been signed there.
Checkin the requirements in 3 steps
Step 1: Preparing to upload the required documents
Upon receiving your offer of a place, admission must be completed in person within the extended enrolment period. Please scan all required documents (see list below) and save them in the appropriate format:
- Offer/acceptance letter from the PhD Office
- Recent passport photo (neutral background)
- Valid passport or national identity card (please upload both sides of the identity card)
- Proof of successful completion of previous degree
- Privacy Commitment Statement
- Residence permit (if applicable/required)
- Other documents: Option to upload any additional documents relevant to your admission
For non-German-language documents, the official certification and translation regulations must be observed.
Step 2: Data registration and initial login to i-med.inside
Initial registration, document upload, and appointment booking take approximately 4 minutes in total.
- Enter your personal data on i-med.inside2)
- You will then receive an email to activate your system access. Once you have set your password, you can log in to i-med.inside2) using your basic account.
- Upload your scanned documents to i-med.inside2) under “My Applications”. Review your details in the preview and submit the final document.
Step 3: On-site verification of admission requirements
For your personal enrolment on site, please bring the following original documents for data verification:
- Valid travel document / passport
- Residence permit (if applicable)
- Debit/debit-credit card for paying the Austrian Students‘ Union (ÖH) or tuition fee (cash payments are not accepted)
Admission can only be granted following successful verification of all academic and legal requirements.
