Careers in Science and Beyond

Join us for the Career Days, two days for pre- and postdocs from the basic and clinical sciences who are asking what comes next. Through panels, keynotes, a fireside chat, and hands-on workshops, discover the many directions a research career can take — within academia, beyond it, and into entrepreneurship — and hear how others have navigated the same questions.

Highlights of this edition:

• Career Paths — Within and Beyond Academia – two panels bringing together academics at different career stages and professionals who moved into industry, consulting, IP law and beyond, sharing what their transitions really involved.
• Entrepreneurship – a keynote and panel on what it takes to turn research into a company: choosing the idea, building the team, and funding the leap.
• Fireside Chat — Does Academia Need a New Career Model? – senior researchers and policy-makers on where today’s academic career structures fall short, and what more diverse, flexible and sustainable paths could look like.
• Hands-on Workshops – small-group sessions (max. 30 participants) on self-awareness for career orientation and recognising the transferable skills you have already built.
