Curriculum vitae Curriculum vitae
The research programme at the Division of Neurobiology focuses on multiple system atrophy, a neurodegenerative disorder associated with autonomic failure, ataxia and parkinsonism. Over the last decade our research group has generated important contributions in the fields of clinical presentation, diagnostic tools and pathogenesis research. More recently, our work has moved towards the preclinical screening of candidate neuroprotective and neuroregenerative strategies that are subsequently evaluated for safety and efficacy in controlled clinical trials within the European MSA Study Group (EMSA-SG). Additionally, experimental Parkinson models are now available for pre-clinical screening of candidate neuroprotective and neuroregenerative approaches.
