Raised funding for follow-up studies

The host scientist and co-applicant Florentine Marx has been in cooperative and scientific contact with the applicant László Galgóczi for several years. With the Lise Meitner project this collaboration was further strengthened and resulted in a granted joint project application for further investigation of cysteine-rich antifungal proteins from Ascomycetes and peptide derivatives focusing on their structural design for practical applications.

  1. Application for the investigation of cysteine-rich antifungal proteins secreted by Neosartorya fischeri NRRL 181 as biopesticides and crop preservatives, Postdoctoral Excellence Program of the Hungarian National Research, Development and Innovation Office (grant reference number: PD 120808), 2016-2019, HUF 15 090 000, Project leader: László Norbert Galgóczi

  2. The γ-core motif determines the antifungal mode of action of small, cysteine-rich, cationic proteins from Ascomycetes, Bilateral FWF-NKFIH Project, Austrian Science Fund and Hungarian National Research, Development and Innovation Office (grant reference number: FWF I3132-B21, NKFIH ANN 122833), 2017-2020, € 254.667,00; HUF 26 580 000, Project leaders: Florentine Marx (Austria) and László Norbert Galgóczi (Hungary)
