The Master’s Programme in Pharmaceutical Sciences – Drug Development and Regulatory Affairs (https://www.uibk.ac.at/en/programmes/ma-pharmaceutical-sciences/), in the following referred to as PHARM_SCI, is a joint study programme of the Medical University of Innsbruck and the University of Innsbruck held in English.  The PHARM_SCI admission procedure is organized and carried out by the Medical University of Innsbruck for all applicants. The admission is only granted at the Leopold-Franzens-University of Innsbruck (https://www.uibk.ac.at/studium/anmeldung-zulassung/aufnahmeverfahren-neu.html.enAll students become members of both universities upon admission. After passing all required examinations of the curriculum and having received the positive assessment of the Master's thesis, the graduates of the Master's programme Pharmaceutical Sciences shall be awarded the academic degree "Master of Science", abbreviated to "MSc", by the Leopold-Franzens University of Innsbruck. A joint certificate is additionally awarded to the graduates during a joint ceremony of the two universities.

The admission procedure takes place once a year. In the course of the admission process, applicants must take an admission test which is a scientific knowledge test. The 50 applicants who score best in the admission test will be invited to a selection interview in front of a selection committee. The rank achieved in the test, the interview, and other legal requirements form the basis for the decision on who will be given a study place.

When registering on the Internet, personal data must be provided. Student applicants receive a reference number, which they will need in the further course of the procedure. The time and order of Internet registrations within the period are irrelevant for the further evaluation steps. Incomplete, untruthful or late registrations, or registrations not complying with formal requirements are invalid and will not be taken into account.

After successful Internet registration, applicants will receive a confirmation of the registration by e-mail. Information about all further steps will be sent both, to your e-mail as well as to your personal PHARM_SCI-Account. It is therefore of the utmost importance that the e-mail address entered upon Internet registration is correct and that the reference number and the personally selected password are kept on file.

The application for an adaptation of the exam due to disability must be submitted to anv-nachteilsausgleich@i-med.ac.at  between 16 May 2022 and 27 May 2022 at the latest and a medical certificate or expertise must be attached as proof. The disability and the necessary adaptation of the examination method must be evident from the application and the proof. Applicants who have submitted an application in due time and have provided evidence of a disability will be informed on their PHARM_SCI account after the expiry of the deadline for submitting an application by 30 June 2022, whether and in what way they will be granted an adapted examination method and, if necessary, whether suitable support measures can be provided. Further information can be found at www.i-med.ac.at/studium/anv-barrierefrei.html

2. Procedure of the co-payment

After successful Internet registration, the stipulated co-payment must be made via the Internet platform (PHARM_SCI-Account). The Internet registration is considered withdrawn and participation in the test is not possible if the fee has not been paid in full within the registration period.

Any fees charged by the bank for the transfer must be taken into account when making the payment. Payment must be made online using the PHARM_SCI-Account.

3. Admission test

All applicants who have properly registered for the admission procedure for the Master’s Programme in Pharmaceutical Science (PHARM_SCI) can take the admission test.

4. Selection interview

The interviews (ranking positions 1-50) take place in the week after the admission test in front of an admission committee in Innsbruck. The dates are assigned and are therefore not freely selectable. If an applicant does not turn up for the interview, he/she will no longer be considered in the admission procedure.

5. Determination of results

After the admission test and the selection interviews, the final results will be determined. This leads to a final ranking list of student applicants. The results will be made available for each applicant in accordance with the admission regulations. Only those applicants can be admitted to the study programme who have received a place for the chosen study programme on the basis of the ranking and who meet all other legal requirements.

6. Admission

Applicants who have been awarded a study place due to the final ranking list, must begin their studies within the period allocated to them in the notification. If students fail to start their studies on time, they will automatically drop out of the study programme. Details will be announced as part of the “Invitation to Admission”. The admission is granted through the Leopold-Franzens-University of Innsbruck (https://www.uibk.ac.at/en/programmes/ma-pharmaceutical-sciences/).

7. Repeated participation in the admission procedure

Applicants who are not admitted to the programme in one academic year can take part in the admission procedure again in one or more following academic years without limitation. They will be treated in the same way as all other applicants who take part in the admission procedure for the first time.
